European destroying angel
Amanita virosa Bertill.
Description
Entirely white, with a fragile ring, a slightly scaly stem and a basal cup. It grows in damp woods and carries the same lethal toxins as the death cap.
Curiosity
Its English name, destroying angel, contrasts its clean look with its danger.
